Klong Lat Pho located in Song Kanong Subdistrict, Phra Pradang District, Samut Prakan Province. Previously, the canal was shallow. Later, HMJ the King Bhumibol initiated to "Divert Water" to solve flooded in Bangkok.

• The Chao Phraya River, a total approximately 18 km length. There is a meandering flow around Bang Krachao, which caused drainage during rising sea level was slow.
• Improved Klong Lat Pho, 600 m length was inititated to drain off water on both sides of the Chao before sea water recedes. When sea level rise, the Lat Pho floodgate is closed to prevent water flow along the meandering 18 km.
